The smart glasses (codenamed N50) appear to be further along than previously known. Bloomberg reports that Apple is already distributing broader batches of prototypes internally, developing its own frames, and targeting the start of production from December 2026. The glasses are expected to feature two cameras—one for high-resolution photography and another for computer vision, similar to the technology used in the Vision Pro.

The pendant device is said to be roughly the size of an AirTag, worn via a clip or necklace, and powered by hardware comparable to that of AirPods. Internally, Apple is still debating whether the device should include a speaker. Camera-equipped AirPods could reportedly launch as early as this year, while the pendant is not expected before 2027.

All three devices are built around Siri and are designed as iPhone accessories. Bloomberg also notes that Apple’s Vision Pro team is now contributing to the development of both the smart glasses and the pendant.
