ChatGPT remains the clear market leader with 56.72%, but it has lost significant share over the past year. Twelve months ago, it still held 77.43%. Google Gemini posted strong growth and now accounts for roughly a quarter of total traffic at 25.46%, up from just 6% a year ago. Google’s growth is likely driven in part by its aggressive mobile user acquisition strategy, especially on Android, including push notifications that trigger Gemini chat queries directly from Search.
