World Labs is working on so-called world models — AI systems designed to understand the three-dimensional world and make decisions within it.
“We want to accelerate our mission to advance spatial intelligence by developing world models that will fundamentally transform storytelling, creativity, robotics, scientific research, and many other fields,” the company said.
Late last year, World Labs released its first product, Marble, which can generate 3D worlds from images or text. With the new capital, the startup plans to expand applications in robotics and scientific research.
The company did not disclose its valuation, but Bloomberg previously reported that World Labs was in talks at a valuation of around $5 billion. Fei-Fei Li is widely known for her work on the ImageNet project, which played a crucial role in advancing modern computer vision.
